The idea that we could temporarily withdraw from the European Convention on Human Rights is nonsensical and a complete no go.  It would require the agreement of the Houses of Parliament and the government would never get such a move passed.

We NEED an independent judiciary to make decisions that follow the rule of law rather than the whims of whichever government is in power - without such a judiciary then the truth about the Hillsborough disaster, for example, would never have been revealed.

We may not like the idea of people such as Abu Qatada using our laws for their own purposes but the idea that such laws could be suspended as a matter of convenience is a terrifying prospect.
