I see He was banned from appearing or taking part on the BBCs 'children in need', because of his reputation

I am unfamiliar with British procedures, so I ask this next question in all innocence, though I imagine that it will open a can of worms. The question is this: Who, or what agency nominated him for high honors and knighthood, and will there be any repercussions because of having done so?

The Vatican gave him their highest honour a Papal Knighthood, at the request of the Catholic church of England & Wales , and Governments 72 till 90 over time, gave him awards up to his Knighthood. All for His "for charitable services". He raised over $50mil for charities and volunteered at many Hospitals, where he worked for free.
He was never off our TVs from the late 60s till into this century .

So Saviles estate is to be frozen , it is believed to be £4mil,
Lawyers for numerous victims, say they are going to sue
With so many victims, the total number of lawyers will be high
I'll bet £4mil , wont stretch much further than their combined fees, so victims will get very little.

Why should he lose the awards he was not found to have done anything wrong in his young days..

Tommy, people rarely start that kind of behaviour in old age. It tends to be a life time's pattern. As I understand it, there have been complaints from way back surfacing.

^Find = Fine^
There was a big investigation into leading politicians, police, Civil servants & celebs being involved in a Peado ring at the end of Thatchers time in power.
results kept secret
Edwina Curry outed Paul Morrison ex Chester MP and Thatchers Top aide as a serial abuser of rough trade 16 yo rent Boys (illegal then) in her autobiography.

They may as well accuse every celebrity in the world and have done with it,
The whole issue is SOOOOOOO! Boring now.

They were no angels: Headmistress's cruel dismissal of the girls abused by Jimmy Savile (and she claims no-one told her what he was up to)
Schoolgirls molested by Jimmy Savile were dismissed as 'delinquents' yesterday by their former headmistress.
Margaret Jones said some of her pupils at Duncroft Approved School were 'no angels', and had traded sex for cigarettes.
Some were coming forward now with 'wild allegations' about abuse only to make money, and had only themselves to blame if they had not complained at the time, she claimed.

Ohh, Tommy - I so hope you don't really mean that! What a horrible thing to say, and what a horrible thing to make a joke of.
These young girls were vulnerable, often had come from horrid lives, often might have been seriously ill. If they were in an approved school, there was surely a reason for it, and they had come from one horrible life into another. Out of the frying pan into the fire, so to speak. How utterly awful that their "Headmistress" did not believe them when they spoke out, and instead were themselves blamed for the predicament they found themselves in. Despicable. It truly makes my blood run cold.
Poor girls - that evil man. I am not a religious person, but if I could believe in a place such as Hell, then I could only hope he burns down there for infinity and beyond

So now we've got Leonard Rossiter up there as well, have we? All I can say is thank God he wasn't tied up with Battersea Dogs Home! God knows WHAT the papers would have insinuated had he been raising money for a dog's home!
As Elvis Presley replied when questioned about paternity suits being flung all over when he was around:
"I take it as a measurement of my success. Nobody wants anything off you if you're a penniless bum!"
As I said earlier, you wait until Mick Jagger kicks the bucket. You'll still be hearing about it aafter I'm pushing up the daisies!

Not quite with you there, Tommy. Why would you expect to get a slap from the last part of my post? I'm very surprised you didn't get one from the last part of yours (no 155), which I was referring to in my "Oh, I hope you don't mean that" post (and trying to be polite about it. Even so much as groping young and vulnerable children is no laughing matter, IMHO.
Perhaps this thread has taken a turn for the worse, in terms of sense of humour. On that basis, I'm out!

OK
F.Starr accused of groping but at present its just one accuser.
Outcome- One 2 one denial means its likely Starr will be found not guilty by reason of insufficient evidence.
J.Saville
Accused of many things and by too many to be coincidence but now dead so A cannot be held to account or B Refute the allegations
Outcome- Guilty
Still got a long way to go obviously ,so maybe best to see how it all develops
Chances of someone in the higher echelons of the BBC being prosecuted? Unlikely.
Interesting to see how the newspapers (certain papers especially) have taken this matter.I reall which hunt as it takes the limelight and public gaze away from their own shocking practises.Hacking .lying etc
