From what I have just read his family are going to remove his headstone and many other plaques are also being removed and charities he was associated with I think are now trying to "disassociate his name".

In Fact Esther Ranzten was talking about him this morning on Daybreak and she said she never really liked him and found him quite creepy

I'm hoping that the people from the BBC who have admitted to knowing about Saville abusing these girls (& I mean the ones that 'knew', not just suspected) are done for 'perverting the course of justice' as those cowards allowed it to continue so that more & more young people were able to be abused. How any grown adult can keep quiet whilst a young girl is abused escapes me & comes across as condoning the actions of Saville & his cronies.

Hi Suzie ,Maggie is quite right. The title dies with the person. What I feel is that creature having had the title is now the travesty 😐 I don't think David Cameron is in the dark (all those advisors mmm ?).

I'm horrified at the thought that the money he could generate may have been at the root of many people keeping quiet and effectively aiding and abetting child abuse.

Who is worse, the pervert (who presumably some how in their own mind believes that they have a "right" to do what they do), or the observer who fully appreciates the evil being perpetrated but allows it to continue to avoid losing the goose that lays the golden egg?

I believe the allegations being made, it's all coming to thick and fast for me to think otherwise.  At the same time, I did feel a bit uncomfortable when I heard a police officer being interviewed on the news referring to him as a sexual predator, because in our justice system shouldn't the police still be referred to allegations?

I've never liked JS nor have any sympathy for anyone who would hurt a child, but still AFAIK there's not been a full police investigation carried out and until at least that's been done they should at least be seen to be conducting an impartial investiation.

I read somewhere yesterday that his grave is actually "concrete lined" - I wonder why this is? anyone have any ideas? Was this  done because they knew of his history? So many questions!!  Also it looks like they may be removing his coffin from the cemetary. All very weird, in my opinion.

I just wish all this had come out when he was alive, that man went to his death with a clear conscious knowing he would be hailed as a hero ...he even planned his own funeral to encapsulate his fame. 

I would have loved to have been at his deathbed and whisper to him …

“Jim can you fix this?  I know what you are all about, what you’ve done and to whom and your entire life of child abuse is going to be exposed in detail along with all those people who covered up for you.

Take that to your grave as a lasting thought Sir Jimmy Savile!”

The man is dead... he cannot offer any defense...( Not that I am saying there is any defense for his behaviour if it is true)

So... Let us accept that what everyone is saying is true and that he was an abuser...

Do not bother investigating the 120 + lines of enquiry across 6 forces... At the end of the day we will all form our own opinions anyway...

Then donate the £20,000,000 saved in police time to Childline..

And instead of the police investigating a man who is dead and buried... start investigating someone who is alive that can then be prosecuted for his /her crimes...

This is just a waste of Police time now.. They had their chance when he was alive, I wonder how many are jumping on the bandwagon.

We'll find out when the compensation claims start.

If a member of my nearest & dearest claimed to have been abused by a now deceased former TV & radio personality knighted for his good works, then I would want it investigating and the truth to come out.

So while I can appreciate what you're saying about how the funds might be better spent, I can't agree.

If the investigation ceases, as some of you understandably suggest, then all the other dirty old men who were part of his world of show biz who now sit chewing their nails in case they get a mention, will slither back under the rock.  Showbiz in the 70s and early 80s was rife with child abuse and ...not all of them are dead...
