But would time be the same for God as it is for us now?
Was time at the beginning of the universe as it is now? What was/is a day to God.
Roman Catholics don't believe in a literal translation of the Bible and subscribe to the principle of evolution.
As far as I remember from my RI classes there is nothing against Church teachings to suggest that at a particular point God "injected" a soul into a male and then a female hominid. This gets over the problem of a restricted gene pool. There would have been nothing to stop the children of Adam and Eve procreating with hominids who didn't have a soul but producing children that did.
All hocus pocus of course, (in my opinion), but it does have a certain logic to it.
