Last year he was outspoken against Jimmy Saville,now this,I don't know about anyone else but i find it a bit strange

At the time the DJ said what he did to me, I'd just told him that I'd not known before that "the person" wasn't "straight". I also didn't know that the person I was talking to wasn't "straight" either and wondered for a long time why he was less friendly after I'd been outspoken about "the person" and his preferences...... A foot in mouth moment for me!

Really? Without much effort, I can think of several who have been in the news recently, eg. David Smith, William Harper, Alan Leger, Ray Teret, to mention only a few. None are exacly household names are they? Afaik none are wealthy, so unlikely candidates to be targeted by the largely imaginary hoards of compensation seekers.

Why the attempt to trivialise? The latest charges against Stuart Hall are far beyond him being accused of being an ''old groper''.

Ray Teret used to be a household name.

He was a DJ on Caroline North. I think at one time his "show" was the "Ugli Bug Ball" and he used that as one of his signature tunes too. He used to do "The Ray Teret Show" with lotsa requests. He used to be called "Ugly Ray Teret" and he had a boutique in Douglas on the I of M called the "Ugli Bug Booteek". I think he was on Signal Radio and also Picadilly and latterly on online radio so he's not an unknown?

Other than in relation to his association with Savile I, and I suspect most, had never heard of Teret previously.
He is often described as Savile's chauffuer.
His association with Caroline North, Wiki puts at starting in the mid sixties, and ending in 1966
Obviously a big attraction there, before he downgraded to radio palooka.
That would be a household name in his own household then.

In relation to unknowns being charged, you wouldn't generally expect it to appear in the good old DM.Hardly news in their view.You would though hear about someone of interest in the public eye. Indeed several have commented on celebs being mentioned in relation to various charges and how they consider it unfair.Odd then that they still continue reading the same tabloids who are the ones to name them.

and Civil servants were trying to get a change to the Law, making reporting such crimes, mandatory for bosses/Headmasters etc, more than 65 years ago, the Government are still refusing to implement this.

Savile didn't just abuse kids, He also RAPED, sick & disabled children, over many many years, this was known, but covered up.

can't really get away with multiple crimes like this, they get reported/caught and charged. It is the People in positions of power or celebrities that get reported and then others cover it up (in his case since the late 50s), this like Savile leads to them thinking they are untouchable, so continue committing these crimes.

The programme a few weeks back about the MP Cyril Smith was chilling too. DISGUSTING MAN,,, as they all are. WHATS THE MATTER WITH THEM... WHY ARE THEY LIKE THIS?. Im sorry but even where i live you just see pervy looking men about EVERYWHERE. I even have a man nearby who i regarded as a friend who i was having a normal conversation with and then he suddenly said something really out of order pervy wise and shocked me to the core!!!. If he was alive today ..We wouldnt be having this thread as it would have been brushed under the table.. He was powerfull and could get you the sack if you said things about him ..His money talked for him..He give lots away to good causes..

Yes i was talking about this Jimmy Savile thing this morning with someone at work,,and thats what she said its Power and Money and people either being too scared to say anything, with or without threats, or him paying off people maybe to keep their mouths shut!. MONEY TALKS they say, its true you know. Visiting Broadmoor??,. He shaould have been LOCKED UP IN THERE HIMSELF!!!.
