Vat on a sale

Hi can anyone tell me why my bidder has received an email telling them the item they have bid on is due 20% vat it's a beer making kit and beer sugar? I am a private seller and we are both in the Uk. Thanks

This is happening to others and some say it displays and then goes once you pay.

However,if the seller or buyers location is shown as UK but they have, or are, registered abroad, and (using a warhouse in the sellers case),  then 20% vat will apply

Thankyou for that he says he's in uk, eBay has said it won't show when time to pay, just annoying though I could have lost the sale.
