Buying problems with the buy button

Hi I having problems with the buy button on eBay can you tell what is going on and can you sort it out please.

I'm afraid we cannot sort it, as we are members like yourself.

 

No one else has reported this .....  yet,  so the issue may lie with you.

 

Which device or browser are you using?

 

If the app,  that's usually fraught with temporary glitches,  if using , switch if you can  to a laptop / PC and try Chrome that seems to work best with eBay.

Can you switch and use a desktop browser,  laptop /PC etc.   Try it with Chrome, it should then work for you.

I'm not only having problems with the BIN button, but also with all other buttons. I'm no longer able to add to lists, see original listings, scroll through listing photos, enlarge listing photos. It all stopped working quite some weeks ago. Now, as of today, I can no longer read messages either. When I click on them, nothing happens as with all other functions, so I've essentially been unable to use ebay on my mac for some time now. This happened before, and ebay fixed it (it happens when they update their systems), but this time it's just not being addressed.

Tech have confirmed the issue as resolved. If it persists please delete your recent cache and cookies and try again.

I am not sure if your issue is the same as this issue reported on this thread. Tech have confirmed yesterdays issue as resolved. Can you try deleting recent cache and cookies and even trying from another browser.

Its usually the app that has regular updates which may mean older operating systems on devices are no longer compatible with newer versions.

Can you confirm what device you use, the version of it and what version operating system you have? With the latest eBay app updates it works with IOS 18 and above.

No worries. I will let you know why I'm asking this detail and maybe you might be able to get a friend or family member to help figure out what version your iphone is. If you have an older iphone for example iphone 7, iphone 8 these run on older operating systems that are no longer compatible with the eBay app. This happens because older system no longer get security updates. This could be the reason why you are having issues. If it is, then you would need to use eBay either through a web browser on your phone  or from a desktop/laptop.

The eBay app won't work on iphone 6 s or iphone 7 as they have older operating systems that are no longer compatible with eBay.  It should work ok with going through the browser and not the app.  If it is not working with the browser what could be happening is if you have the app on the phone is it could be defaulting to the app automatically.  Suggestions here would be to delete the app and then log into eBay through the browser or alternatively if you have access to a desktop/laptop log into your account on that.

I've not been able to use ebay on any of my computers for over a month now. I can no longer scroll listing photos, enlarge listing photos, buy it now, add to lists etc. As of a few days ago, I can no longer open messages either. This all happened last year too, and ebay took a long time to acknowledge that the issue was with an ebay update that was incompatible with operating systems/browsers that were quite up to date. However, ebay eventually acknowledged and fixed the issue. On this occasion however, no-one yet seems to be doing anything about it, or even acknowledging the issue at ebay. It's incredibly frustrating.
