unsafe 2kw chinese imersion in bath heaters

hi ,an earlier message tells how i purchased 2 2kw place in bath imersion heaters as my hot water home one had failed and it took 5 week to fix .     the first one works ok using 6in of water and observing safety instructions included in the box.     so with small temperature device which has a remote plug in senser i can start the heater  for say 45 minits and aim for 100deg f end reading.      so constantly monitoring it it works flawlessly.      then yesterday an ebay email message flagged up safety concernes.    i emailed the sellers and they said is it working ok but failed to  comment it on being an illegal import from the uk. i think   they dont understand english so to send it back and maybe get no refund is what will happen and dont understand ebays guarenteed refund is it?.   so would value any suggestion no involving posting it back , after all its essentially scrap now    maun thanks  h a n d

You explain it took 5 weeks to fix one.  This means that 30 days past the item's last estimated date for delivery has lapsed,  so no point contacting eBay for any refund,  as you are too late here.

Turn now to your payment provider for help with a refund if you have purchased items not fit for purpose.

Is this a heater which you take into the bathroom and put in a bath of cold water?

From China?

If so I am afraid "words fail me"!

If eBay found a safety fault [and I would not be surprised] you have had a lucky escape.  Such items [and extension leads] are "not allowed" in UK.
