An item I bought hasn’t been posted because the seller miscalculated the cost. They have cancelled the sale but say I need to claim the refund. I can do nothing because the item is listed as in transit. How do I get refunded?

If the seller had actually cancelled the sale, a refund would have been automatically generated, and you would have an email from Ebay saying your refund was being processed.
If the seller hasn't done this, then you will have to wait until one day after the latest estimated delivery date and open an 'item not received' case.

When they cancelled you should have received an email from ebay with an accept link on it. Or find the item on your purchases list and click on the dropdown menu.
