They send emails to buyers saying they have attempted a delivery when actually they are just late and haven't tried at all!
I know because I have a delivery box! I now avoid where possible any eBay seller that uses them!
Here is my example.
We have a great Evri delivery person, so I was surprised to see and being home all day, an email.... ' Attempted delivery do I wish to ...... ' !
Next day my Evri person arrived , I asked did he ' attempt' delivery yesterday as I was home and NO ONE attempted a delivery!
His answer.... He was close to our house, we are on a single track road, and the road was blocked with a removal van ( someone is moving 2 houses down , only 6 down our road) the only option they have on their devices when they cannot deliver is ..... ' Attempted delivery'.
It's not dishonesty, but a lack of options to explain the real reason, we hear many complaints that Royal Mail has left an item in the buyer's ' porch' , when they don't have one. It just means left outside.
Could be some similar reason your delivery person faced? !
