Mistaken return cancellation

I cancelled a return because it looked as if I needed a return label first. I've now been in touch with the seller who has told me to click on 'return' I now know that I've closed it but didn't beforehand! How do I start a new return for the same item?

Any ideas very welcome!

You can't start a new return, you only get one go on ebay.

I do not see why you cannot make a private arrangement with buyer. It would not  be through ebay and therefore would be purely based on trust.       

Buyer returns you then you cancel sale which should still be possible and refunds.
