I do wonder if some of these things are a by product of requirements now in place for things like screen readers for the partially sited.

websites have a legal requirement to improve accessibility under the EEA (which I presume still applies in Northern Ireland)

So while obviously you with your good eyes can tell you can do this, someone having to tab through a screen they can’t see, something needs to tell them what can be done in the field they are currently in.
