I think with some items, it's not a bad idea to test if there is any interest, by listing with a higher, buy it now or best offer price.  Then you can see if the item attracts any interest at all, over a few weeks, rather than have the regret that it sold too cheaply at auction - maybe because not enough people spotted the item in time, or forgot to bid, etc etc.
