You only need to pay attention to the case. There was actually no need to contact the buyer in the first place as eBay had already advised you they were refunding the buyer out of their own pocket. In short, eBay have taken responsibility for whatever happened and it is no longer your problem. 

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.
