Ebay automatically changed listing postage settings - to underweight & under paid

(Revised from previous post as apparently you are not allowed to mention other websites by name - talk about paranoia ) .I have only made 3 sales since Ebay brought in simple delivery. I have my account set to Royal Mail.

Sold a Jacket today ,( 4/11/2025),packaged it up, went to post office , package refused !!. Why ?..... Ebay sent a label for a maximum parcel weight of 2kg and the jacket in a box weighed 4kg.

I have now had to cancel.

It's bad enough that sales have dropped to the level they have but when I do get a sale Ebay charge me for a useless postage label.

And of course the only 3 options as a reason for cancellation make it look like it's my fault with no option to expand on the reason for cancelation like " Ebay won't let me choose postage and sent a label that was for the wrong weight" .

It really is pointless trying to get a sale on Ebay now. I posted before and now my sales elsewhere are at 50 to 3 on Ebay over the same time period.

(Revised section ). All my listings had free postage and so Ebay automatically changed this I do not know. Looks like they changed all the postage from "Free" to Large Letter size under 2kg at £3.38. So If you have a listing for a bundle of 40 LPS

or a Microwave Oven BEWARE as Ebay will have changed your listing to show postage for parcels less than 2kg.

To make matter worse in my case Ebay have refunded the buyer in full but I will only be refunded the item price and Ebay keep the postage charge even though I only printed the label and it was rejected at the Post Office before being scanned. If  I re sell the jacket there is now no profit in it as the postage will now be over £11.00 when it would have been around £6 had Ebay not changed the listing.
