Markets, ..I was just thinking of putting some time aside from medieval history to get on top of ebay more, stop hacking myself (clicking on things I didn't even understand/notice, eg, posting policy set up options/templates for business sellers) it's quite complex. ..But on markets - they don't work by a singular logic, broadly as systems of mutual exchange vs competition & to maximise extraction, monopoly etc, which actually destroys 'markets'. 

 

A Shareholders job is to destroy such markets till everyone else has nothing.  Just like 'social media' used to turn a profit for the mega rich -  never going to work for us really. It has to start out that way & depends on some service, but easily strangled, reminds me of a term invented by Cory Doctorow, ens---ification. 

 

I don't know how much of this is trying to improve service but suspect it's a 'bit' like the crusades, in some measure. About a few people monopolising all they can. - The fees seem utterly ridiculous to me btw. Some few are making a ton because they still have some monopoly to do it with.
