It seems you hope in vain! I've not used vinted, but I can see this on their website:
"Refunds for returns [for SNAD, and other justified reasons] are made up of:
- The price of any returned items
- The Buyer Protection fee for any returned items
- The initial shipping fee you paid to get the order
- Any fees you paid for optional services like Item Verification or Electronics Verification"
The full T&C do say, however:
"You’re responsible for return shipping costs unless agreed otherwise with the Seller"
Oh, so it's dependent on the seller's goodwill?!
But then, further down, it gets worse:
"If you pay for return shipping, the return shipping costs will be deducted from your refund"
What? Deducted?! If I pay £2 to return a £10 SNAD item, they only refund me £8? Don't they mean "added to your refund", as would be fair (but contradict the other two statements)?
So a seller who messes up or tries to pull a fast one either just loses the sale, or may offer to pay return postage, or pockets the return postage, while the poor deceived buyer is most probably left out of pocket.
[For anyone who hasn't read the whole post, it all refers to vinted!]
