Hi, I need a little help - you possibly need to be over 50, as I am looking for a particular book from my childhood (early/mid 1950's).
The book was illustrated, hardback and had line drawings of animals - particularly weasles and stoats - 'Wind in the Willows' comes to mind, but it isn't that (I have an illustrated copy)!
One line drawing has a number of animals looking through a skylight to a scene down below where aothers are round a table - or looking at a map.
The animals also walk through a wood at night. Lanterns are carried on Shepherds crooks??
A map is also depicted somewhere in the book - also reminiscent of WITW (above)- And some kind of water mill, but that is where my memory gets a bit blank.
Well, is that enough for anyone to have a stab at the name??
Please reply to "mgc-teach" if you think you have an idea of who wrote it or a title even.
Many thanks for reading all this jumble.
Tony.
And yes............I do want a copy.
