Just to repeat the previous link showing for you below, when you are on that thread, at the top click on ' Go to Solution', and follow ' Rick's guidance to the workaround for oversized items!

They have now removed the opt out and are gradually forcing you to use the SD. Like most sellers, I usually put on a little extra for packing materials, driving to the Evri store etc. SD Forces you to quote just the basic cost, so your actually out of pocket on postage on everything you sell. The only solution is to put up the cost of the item a little, but the knock on effect is your item becomes a little less attractive in search if others are selling the same type of thing. eBay used to be so simple, I may now just give up if the individual fun and control are taken away.

EBay are gradually rolling it out to everyone. My wife has an EBay account and the opt out still works for now. It seems the lower item sellers are being pulled in first and then expanding out to all. If you’re selling a fair few items, you may be ok for a week or two. My guess is, they are testing the water without upsetting the larger Private sellers first. The more people object, the better chance they will add some flexibility ?

People who say that my workaround isn't working are usually not following it exactly - they try to do what they think is right but isn't!

. EBay changed it to SD Everi .they then gave me a choice of 6 couriers but
on choosing one the labels were blocked
Thankfully eBay gave me my buyers details so I could do my own and then
upload tracker .cheaper and quicker than SD Evri
They say the buyers choose there own labels but guess what they always
choose evri
That is not correct because every one avoids evri the worse courier walking
.
Once Hermes now evri same one just a different name what next

They are wriggling trying to get their simpleton delivery to work correctly! They must be frantically tweaking their systems to block off all avenues of escape from their dictated agenda.
I think that because you are trying to use an ebay label you are confusing simple delivery and the workaround. The workaround envisages you obtaining your own postage not through the ebay label systems. ( which was the point of the workaround ) You should be choosing the carrier at listing not at sale.

and changed to suit was I wanted to see if I could choose another courier
as eBay had put my listing under SD evri but forgot to inform me they
said 6 was available and said pack link will be cancelling all in a short
while .
So I clicked on Royal Mail but when I went to pay nothing at all worked
they have all ready been deleted
But thankfully my 3to 5 days gave me my buyers info. with SD you only get
this when you down load there label .
I do not want to have evri in any shape or form but we are giving this
choice SD or nothing buyers always choose evri ha ha
no it’s eBay but the blame is on the buyers choice .I want my items
delivered in a reasonable time. and a safe manner that’s not what we have
with SD
It was shocking before eBay gave us to the sharks of couriers like evri .
But now it’s socks

From what I have seen as a buyer - the buyer doesn't know what the carrier options are, the choice is standard or express, no names are mentioned. I have carried out a small test sample of 1/2 a dozen purchases under simpleton delivery - if I choose standard I get an evri delivery and if I choose express I get royal mail 24 or 48. This is just my observations, I presume that most buyers go for the cheapest option which is standard hence evri is the carrier selected.
Why ebay cannot be open about which carrier is selected to the buyer is beyond me. I suppose it is because very few people would use them if they had a choice. I hate evri with a passion also and would never send anything out via them.

As you state, buyers are only given a choice of 'Standard Delivery' or 'Express Delivery' with no mention, on the actual listing or at checkout, of the actual carrier being used or option to choose.
It is actually possible for a buyer to find out which carrier/s will actually be used by clicking on 'Contact Seller' and then 'Postage' (note no need to actually contact the seller). Why that information is hidden away and can't be included in the actual listing I don't know, but probably for the reasons you have suggested.
I definitely think buyers should have the option to opt out of a particular carrier if they wish like sellers can. Maybe that option will be added at some point, possibly when more carriers are added.

to give us are options back ref to postage couriers.
They are most likely enjoying having full control of us small private
sellers we just list then they take over from there .
they are nothing but up to date bullies calling every shot
My buyers are saying do not use evri as they are the worst and slow to
deliver if they deliver at all .but I say you have a choice not me they say
we do not have one eBay SD evri takes over .
What is the point of listing on eBay anymore .I will not except evri for my
items that are fragile my collectibles .but eBay customer service says use
are options or leave without buyer details I am stuck
.I used to love listing on eBay making new friends but now most of my
friends are leaving
If you send a message and eBay’s Ibig brother does not like it . It is
blocked

RUDE ***RUDE*** RUDE
I want to tell ebay that when you say seller pays £3.38, you forgot to cost the packaging materials - box, tapes, felt tips, innards to stop things falling out. You think my plant will fly to buyers NAKED or that I click, the item will be ready to fly? The rudeness is beyond belief. Someone should tell them NOT to fiddle with our postage. £4.50 is the minimum. How about my time? Bullying will not turn me into a business seller. How can I justify the monthly fee if I sell only 1 packet of seeds A WEEK? Then there are the professional scammers ..

What turns members into business sellers is activity not quantity. Buying or making to sell makes someone a business seller.
If sellers can't afford to sell according to the rules the answer is not to just break them.

No, you can choose Royal Mail and then click the return to previous page BACK arrow on the status bar and finish your listing. They just want you to get lost. Anyway, you can just use Royal Mail after your item is sold. Try not to use others as getting refund is a great pain as I have been there. Remember look at the little icon near the postage area and remember to click BACK < arrow on the status bar to finish your listing. Or Don't bother about it. When item sold, you can still choose Royal Mail. I hope it helps.

who have been on eBay for many years to find eBay treating us like this .
We have gone past loyal ebayers who made eBay some of the profits they have
now .and now they are acting like cartel’s .
Yes they have given us free listings but at a cost .taking over postage
with you know who so milking us of postage and are valued and trusting
couriers who many paid to have a extra deal
They are now loosing out because eBay’s SD have taken over and the small
amount we charged for packing.not forgetting the rip off buyers protection
racket
Bubble wrap and chips cost a fortune now.
everything for us small buyers now are tow the line as is or leave .that’s
all I have been told after 18 yrs like it or leave
.eBay will never ever be the same again as we know it .they could be
Aliens in disguise ha ha

This is ridiculous. I'm trying to list a load of postage stamps to include Special Delivery for insurance purposes.
Looks like there is no workaround. I'm trying to create a special delivery option and it simply won't work/won't save my settings.

Are they still valid for postage? If so they are prohibited from Simple Delivery.
