This is a song I heard this morning on Radio 4 Extra.

It was in a comedy programme called "The Sit Crom", set in the 17th Century, at the time of the English Civil War. With Oliver Cromwell.

To the tune of "It's A Long Way To Tipperary", it went something like this:

"It's a long way to Saffron Walden,

It's a long way to go,

It's a long way to Saffron Walden,

Where the roads are under snow,

Gooodbye, Newport Pagnell,

Farewell Marston Moor!

And when we get home to Saffron Walden,

We'll give it, what for!"
