RE : TSUNAMI DISASTER AND PEOPLES VIEWS SO FAR

I would like to point out that I hope most people realise that this event is different from most third world country appeals. Unlike a lot of them where the people are starving and dying because of their own warring factions, lack of own governmental help, or other self inflicted problems (not perhaps personally but governmental and tribal), this was a horrific "hand of God" disaster. It has affected peoples worldwide in almost every country. Many people lost their lives, many were injured. Families were broken up, children orphaned etc and this didnt just happen to the inhabitants of the islands concerned. IT HAPPENED TO TOURISTS AND THEIR FAMILIES as well!! Remember the youngest British victim was just 59 days old! A life just beginning snubbed out so quickly. I have had to deal with tragedy and death myself over the past two years (my ex-husband died last year aged 36 years, my best friend died in a house fire in her early thirties - in both cases they had children who have had to come to terms with their loss) but NOTHING can compare to the grief and hurt caused over there. Please find it in yourself to be charitable, this is an issue much closer to home than you realise.
Sorry to sound as though I am preaching to you, far from it. I just feel that perhaps certain people do not have this issue in quite the right perspective.
