EJ - Thanks for the heads-up re Mint9. In the meantime I'm 40% into downloading Mandrive One, having failed to set up wifi with Puppy 431.

I'm hoping I haven't done something stupid - the following is my hard drive with Ubuntu installed on the 2 "Other" logical partitions. Should I have labelled these? Should I make them into one partition, if so of what kind, before I try to install Mandriva?
