I seem to have uninstalled it successfully, the only thing that Revo found left over was Wubi, lots of noughts somewhere.
I wonder if, whilst I was asleep, Ubuntu came up against my firewall and I wasn't there to OK something... because I had to OK something whilst uninstalling. I'll wait for OE or EJ to advise before I try again.
