Another great photo there herbs also liked your sunset pic, its very resting:-)

Good camera that mary, you will have to let us know how you get on with it, this thing about having a large camera really gets to me, i think it is very obvious if you are professional or not

I agree Stu. Alot of the sporting venues are a bit precious about it though which is a shame. A couple of years ago Kevin Pietersen and a few of the others came over to within 10 feet of me to do some stretching exercises. I was clicking away and a security guard came over and asked me which paper I worked for. There's me leaning against a seat with a walking stick and looking completely unprofessional and trying not to dribble over KP!!!!

She was really snotty with me and I just ignored her and carried on taking photos before they went off again :^O

May be I ought to have a teeshirt made saying 'I am not official press' :^O

hi....i'm looking for the lead that professional photographers use that enables them to stand next to their camera & then click a hand-held button to take the photo....all i can think of is a " remote control " but any kind of search with that wording brings up video cameras with remotes....

hope i've explained myself well enough...? i've only got a Panasonic Lumix...it might not even be available for non-professional cameras ?:|

The JJC WR-100 is a dual function remote control which can operate as a 1 metre corded release or a 100 metre wireless RF remote release

Sorry Drew, thats why I couldn't find any info I presume:-(

that's a shame drew its a really good camera seems a bit lame not including a remote sensor IR type thing

my manky canon has one but never even thought of using it like that

for low light shots I use the timer and tripod hands off

even then they usually come out wrong :^O

I have been away for a few days and took loads of photos at the Take That concert but as I don't have my laptop the card is in the same pile as the US photos and Take That will probably be drawing their pension before I get to edit them :^O

It is so frustrating - to be honest I just wish I had bought a new laptop. My son who works in computing was going to fix it and had it from March until a few weeks ago. I get it back all working and no problem and a day later it breaks down again with a different problem. So far it has cost me nearly £200 to fix and I am getting to the point where it would have been cheaper to buy a new one and I still don't have a working laptop. I am using hubby's computer to chat on here but it is so old I can't really do photos on it without it going at a snail's pace. Grrrrr.

I'm looking for people who have bought this lens and have had them for anything from a few months up to 4 years. I'm looking for people who have had their lens for up to 5 years, who have had good and bad experiences with them.

Reason I ask is that I am currently investigating the one I have which has a few faults which are currently being investigated as to whether they are design faults or just plain wear and tear. This is why I am seeking people from both ends of the spectrum of good and bad - to see if it is design faults, or if it is wear and tear.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Stu - superb photo - my favourite colours 🙂

thelasthobbit - you haven't put which lens but I did see your other thread. I haven't experience of that particularly lens but do have the Sigma 100-200mm lens which is fantastic. On the whole Sigma lenses have very good reputations.

I hope others will come on and be more helpful :)
