Hi towery probably a little of each tbh
If its the ones I think you mean the birds feathers were quite coppery, I also had to shoot slighty under exposure with a low flash as we had trouble getting the right balance (hence, partly, to wanting to get full SLR now) but overall I would say the colours etc were pretty much bang on to the real colours you would see by the naked eye.
The weather was good but changeable at times

have a look at the sony DSLR,s they perform just as well if not better then Nikon, at a fraction of the cost
in fact sony make all the top range Nikon sensors and use the same in their own camera,s as Nikon do
sigma and tamron make lenses to fit sony
I am going to be totally honest here i will never ever buy another Nikon,
The D300 is my main camera the over all build quality is very poor, it has been back to Nikon 4 times in a year for simple repairs buttons falling off the whole camera cover coming away as the glue failed,
I fully believe now in the mass production market Nikons quality has gone down the ski slope fast, I wont convert to canon either as they are just as poor and after sales services is rubbish, they to fail to admit major issues with the top of the range cameras such as red dots in the pictures,
I will be looking either at a range finder , or a sony, and believe me my Nikon at 16 months old needs replacing its had it

or the body on its own for about £330.00 or the sony alpha A700
or take a look at Panasonic Lumix DMC G1 around £490.00 with lens kit
another really good one is the Pentax K20D at around £540.00 again 14 .6 with CMOS sensor again i think sigma etc make pentax fit lenses
really you need to visit a camera store have a good look and feel if the camera body is right for you
I personally would be happy to use any of the above cameras
just checked pentax do thier own lenses not a bad price but Sigma also do pentax fit

I used my friends one to shoot a wedding on as my D300 was in for repair and the picture quality was spot on nice and sharp, clear, easy to see on the screen, but i had never looked at the lenses available for it but having a look at camera world there are a host of lenses to fit it

TBH i think alot of it is names designer cameras but i have been to weddings where guest have had a better camera then me,
the answer is its not the camera its how you use it
over all the handling was nice, it feels sturdy in your hands, write to card was the same as my D300
although the pentax takes the smaller SD or SDHC cards
it can shoot 21 fps which is more then my Nikon
it had no fringing on images
it has live view and expanded dynamic range
as its built of stainless steal then its fine to use in rain or snow although like all cameras i would use a plastic camera rain coat for sea side use, these retail for £4.99 and can be reused
probably better picture quality as didn't need so much processing
It would be so nice if shops for a small deposit did a try before you buy scheme

I am still using my panasonic FZ50 and will be keeping it as I really like the camera and it has served me well over the last year or so. I have my little Fuji compact 3.2mp camera which I have started using a bit more again as its a brill point n shoot.

I am always being asked how do i do this that etc,
I guess your just have to compare the brands you like, i do how ever firmly believe being a Nikon owner that you pay for the name
the quality has gone down hill alot
