No, me neither!
Had another slip-up this Saturday, or should that be, a slip-down? I was taking some pictures whilst out and about at a country park, got to a disused canal (no water) which was part of the old industrial sector of the grounds, way back when, I wanted to get some pictures from down in the canal bed so I walked around to find a way down, which I did, problem was, it was a tad more slippy than I had realised, I was part way down the slope when my foot gave way, so down I slid down, down, down, down, until.... I landed at the bottom on my feet, I looked back up, at to where I had taken that fateful step and said to myself, 'Whoops'! As I stood there, covered in mud down my left hand side, pondering as to how I could get back out from the depths, I decided that I would just soldier on, as it was not the end of the world, I have been in worse situations which I have gotten out of with just a little bit of observation and simple planning, I was sure that this situation would prove to be of a little inconvenience. I walked around the canal bed, snapping pictures of whatever I thought was of interest, the architecture, the masonary, the rusting metal frame of an old canal barge, but the most interesting, yet at the same time, terrifying, was the abyss that lay before me at the end of the canals path! Starring into the now fenced off tunnel into the mine, the fear, overcame me, I averted my gaze, as my mind conjured up many a terrible visions as to what could be lurking in the darkness. After what seemed like an eternity, I found myself, wandering about aimlessly, as if in some type of hypnotic daze, to which I may never escape.... then I found some steps and a walked out back to where I had started ![]()
