the roof man came today, some of what he said went right over my head as it was technical, but basically what he said was that the cement on the gable end ridge had fallen out (or something like that) so was letting in water when the wind was in that direction and then it is running down the cavity from the attic. He is coming tomorrow weather permitting to re-cement it. We also have several slates of which he is going to replace. He started talking about nail fatigue on the slates so at that point I just said "can you patch it up please". In an ideal world we would have a new roof but there is no way that is likely to happen so will have to keep patching. Hope you get yours sorted out.
