Finally, nearly got everything done ready for Wednesday.  One last "mopping up excercise" this weekend to deal with small outstanding bits.

Raining all day... Had to go out and collect a few things so of course got a bit wet; not complaining too much as I managed to get a new haulage while I was at it!

Still, at least everything is finally done and as a result I can have a much earlier one tonight - as long as I'm not tempted to watch the storm for too long ( the peak is forecast for around 01.00 ).

Well.... it was quite windy; a few times I could feel the study shaking when the gusts hit but not much damage in this area; a few slates, fence panels and the odd chimney pot or two in pieces on the ground, but that's it.  Even our empty wheely bins stayed put although our TV aerial has rotated on the mounting and is now hanging down ( still firmly fixed ) like the aerial of Damocles.  Funnily enough we haven't noticed any difference in the picture quality, so we will just leave it for now and get it re-mounted when the local builder bloke is next available.

Meanwhile, news is coming in that a heavily loaded cargo sleigh has crashed on take off in the Arctic...

Morning all Merry Christmas...

So far fairly smooth.... made a nice big Xmas dinner; boneless turkey joint, roast spuds, carrots, peas, batter ( Yorkshire ) puddings, stuffing, onion gravy for those who wanted it / mint sauce for the others ( yes, mint sauce goes very nicely with turkey - try it! ).  Tummies full. no doubt later this evening the sweets and chocolate will start vanishing as well...
