It's hard to believe in a cult with a prediction failure rate of 100%.   It's hard to believe that mankind having existed for no more than the blink of an eye on a speck of dust suspended in a sunbeam and can be wiped out either by the instability of that speck or by vast cosmic events , is anything special.

I find the analogy above rather pointless - because for example say the earh was a billion time larger, or mankind had been living for billions of years it would still ring true!
