Talking of Swans... I was driving over Salisbury Plain last week and saw a swan on the edge of the central reservation of the dual carriageway just before it goes back to single lane traffic.   I hope it managed to make its way across the road without being hit...      Getting back to cheese rolling... at least that gets the cheese makers off the hook for possible compensation claims. It would be interesting to know how many people have previously sued for compensation... none I suspect.   This year organisers replaced the cheese with the lightweight foam version in order to make the downhill race safer.
