It wouldn't be surprising if the flu infection numbers dropped significantly, the precautions taken against covid would also be effective against flu transmission.

Plus there has been a drive to get as many vulnerable people vaccinated against flu.

When I had mine, the surgery had set up temporary outside small marquee structures and had two teams jabbing away about every ten minutes.

That's very true, it was surprising enough that for the first-time ever the surgery phoned me to ask if I wanted my flu jab.  I nearly dropped the phone when I asked when they were going to do it and they said get down here right away.  Usually I ring them and get an appointment a week or two in the future.  They had set up a makeshift awning to work under in the car-park to shade the nurses from the sun!

 

As you say existing precautions against Covid will help lower flu transmission and probably also explains why this year there hasn't been the usual outbreaks of the other seasonal infections like coughs, colds and chest infections.
