are going through the roof.
Apparently puppies are in short supply because so many people have wanted them during lockdown, and I worry that some new owners have not given much thought to the long term and when they are back at work.
Some argue that they ask more money to ensure the pup goes to a good home. A few hundred is normal but I'm beginning to think some are asking silly money just because they want to make a fast buck.
Recently I have seen very high prices, like this 7 month old collie, not even KC registered, for 3 Grand. Does this ridiculous price guarantee a good home for a collie that needs a lot of exercise and stimulation? Maybe I'm suspicious but the recent massive price hikes I have seen suggest to me that the sellers are exploiting the market for what they can get rather than genuine concern for their animal's welfare
