Over familiarisation from professional people who have never met me, who know my name, yet on first contact call me 'my love' on the phone. I find it unprofessional and immensely irritating.
I have just been phoned by my solicitor (or rather the one who is now doing the job as mine has been furloughed). They are anyway an incompetent bunch - I am buying a garage - no chain, no search ( I did the necessary) and it has already been 15 weeks and still not sorted. Excuses, and lies, losing paperwork, blaming the vendors solicitor etc. Grrrrrr!
Anyway this new female solicitor who I have never spoken to before just rang me and called me 'my love' in her first sentence. 🤬
I have a new female doctor and she also called me the same when she rang me.
I daresay that males wouldn't do that in case of complaints. IMO professional women shouldn't either.
Maybe I'm odd, I don't mind so much if other people do it or if it's face to face e.g. in a shop but I find it really unprofessional in a business transaction. If someone is going to charge me a fortune for doing very little very slowly they can jolly well respect me by using my name !

All that we are is what we have thought.
