I have the same make and model of printer. I have never had any problems with cartridges, but I always get mine from Tesco with my grocery delivery. £33 seems a bit steep for a supposedly cheap shop.  Try getting cartridges from a different shop, Maplins is good too.

Dont be tempted to buy cheap compatibles, it is false economy as the ink runs out a lot quicker It is different ink as well and can gum up the print heads, and yes, the printer will know they are not genuine HP cartridges, it will come up on the screen and ask if you wish to continue.
