unless you belive in a creator life cannot just be instantaneous, you cannot have a lifeless planet one second then intelligent hominoid life forms the next. the fossil records spanning millions of years for this planet prove that, same as the universe, if a creator made this universe, everything within should be of the same age, unless he/she made a bit here then a bit there, but the bible says it only took one day to create the heavens, as was life as in the animals to walk the earth, so why do we have fossil records, and why do we observe stars at different stages of development, unless the universe is evolving,  

so the reason why i said life then us, is because life was not us (Homo Sapiens Sapiens) life evolved through mutation caused by the earth changing through out eons of time. one only has to look at the Galapagos Islands to see evolution at work.
