Strange one this but after realising (in about July!) that I hadnt received my paper return, I called HMRC and after 15 minutes arguing/shouting/swearing at a machine, was put through to a proper human being.

They confirmed a full return was sent out in April/May, checked my address and said they would send again.

Coming back from a long holiday I fully expected it to be awaiting me in September but nope.

So called again yesterday and was eventually told that my return HAD been sent twice - but both times to a completely random address 25 miles away that I had never heard of, yet alone been associated with in any way.

The rest of their records were correct in every way but he could not explain where that address had come from!  It is a little worrying that someone now has my name, UTR, NINO and gawd knows what else, everything apart from my address it seems!

So was wondering if this had happened to anyone else?  My filing deadline has now been extended by nearly 3 months given the circumstances...
