It's a shame he has retired but not really surprising.

Dogs in my experience aren't really brave, at least not the ones I've had.  For example one of our current dogs used to be very 'brave' around the horses - 'stealing' their pony nuts etc.  That all ended the day he got kicked and his thigh bone was broken - following his recovery he was the same dog as before in all respects with the one exception, he won't now go anywhere near the horses.

Awwwww, nice doggie. It seems he'd only had a very brief look at the sea before. He looks happy?

That is great news they have both recovered, and back to work again.

Terrible what that teenager did.

Finn was retired in March but he lives on.

I must have missed that part about Finn retiring. Just pleased he is okay, and hopefully will have a nice long retirement. He has earned that for the fantastic service he gave.

Marvellous wasn't it all the care given by the vets and the surgeon as well when Finn was so terribly injured.

Considering his injuries, and all that needed to be done to get him well again, it was amazing he was able then to return to working just 11 weeks later.

So hope now he has a really nice retirement.

So touching they have given this guide dog puppy the name Finn.

A few years ago I sponsored a guide dog puppy 'Angel'. I was sent frequent photo's of her, a booklet too all through her learning stages, and eventually when she went to live with a lady.

Didn't you notice I'd already posted that link? laughing

Yes I did notice the link you posted Cee-dee. Just I don't know how to get the quote showing from a previous post. So I just copied and pasted it onto my message before adding what I went onto write.

“Pc Worrall said that while her fellow officers were taking care of the threat, her four-legged partner had fled out of the room – something extremely out of character”

How is that ‘brave’?

The dog had braved the bloke with the knife, stopped him and had been rewarded with a severe wound. The dog did the right thing in retreating while the humans dealt with the enemy.
