On your last point, the seemingly impossible? What's the idea behind this high speed train lark? No sooner will it have got up to speed than it'll be time to slow down again. The places en-route will be looking for a station/stop so it'll only be a bit quicker than existing trains. The country is too small for such a thing. A waste of money and a waste of the land it'll swallow up.
