It sounds like you're itching for a sectarian fight. I'm sure the many varied people of Scotland (thankfully) have their own opinions about life, politics and everything else, not just whatever their predecessors however many generations ago thought or what they were told to think. I don't really think you can equate someone's thoughts about Scottish independence with the football team they support. I'm assuming that you're alluding not very subtly to the matter of which church they notionally belong to.
