Not a good example.  The areas concerned get little rainfall, are prone to high winds and periodic droughts - naturally.

 

The 'Dust Bowl' was man-made in that it was the result of inappropriate intensive and expansive farming practices for the region, and it wouldn't have happened under natural grass cover.  Instead thousands of square miles of dry top soil was left exposed to the high winds.
