Well now that you mention Hitler, he was nearly a vegetarian. Only rarely ate meat, because he thought it disrupted his intestinal flora.
That was not, in itself, an unsound idea. Humans are probably more evolved towards a vegetarian diet. However, he came under the influence of Dr Morell, his personal physician, who constantly gave him medicinal tablets to suck.
The tablets were mildly poisonous, and certainly had deleterious effects on the Fuehrer's brain. Like attacking Russia before the Wehrmacht had the Tiger tank, going for Kiev instead of Moscow in 1941, and above all - getting bogged down at Stalingrad in 1942.
All this is well known to military historians. The Fuehrer could have won the war, if he hadn't been on medication. It all depends on what you eat.
