The question was 'Does free speech give us the right to offend?.

No one has the right not to be offended though they may have the right not to be damaged by hate speech.

There is a difference between that which might give rise to hate with all that may entail such as violence and speech which may lead to criticism.

There is no good reason for religion to be a special case.

If one person acts according to a voice in their head they may be thought of as mad, if 10,000 all have the same, it's called religion.
