To me it souinds pretty mean to give someone freedom of choice, a brain, emotions etc...and then punish them for making a choice, because you don't like their choice...calling it the wrong choice. It's like giving a child a toy and then punish it for playing with it.
Would you do that to your own children? If we did we would be accused of abuse. But it's ok for God and we have to accept his authority. No wonder a lot of his "children" rebel and don't obey. It's double standards don't you think?
Harry,
I don't see it that way, but everyone will see it how they see it with how their heart condition is I suppose. As I try to understand and accept God, I will see it how I am taught it to be. (if that makes sense lol)
Adam and Eve had everything in life that they could possibly want, they had a perfect life abundance of food and a paradise to live in. They did not need to take the fruit of one tree. It was one requirement that is all just one. The angels in the heavens were being shown that even the perfect humans on earth needed Jehovah and was required to be obedient. Being obedient was the way to show their appreciation and acceptance of Jehovahs Authority.
I don't see it as double standards, I accept Jehovah as life giver and Soverign. so I try to be obedient knowing I am not perfect like they were.
