I have just got a windows 8 laptop

Wish I had not but they do not seem to do windows 7 any more

Followed all the instructions to get rid of the blinking charms bar .

Done the new key “EdgeUI“ reg edit all correct. Tried 3rd party software but the blinking thing is still there?

Has anybody actually got rid of the invasive thing?
