Adverts? Love 'em or hate 'em?

Although some are amusing and others are "interesting" doncha get fed up of the sheer volume and repetitiveness?

We are bombarded from all directions whether it be on the TV, the radio, in newspapers (umpteen flyers included) not the mention the absolute monotony of them (in all their forms) on the net.

Due to them being rammed down our throats all the time do you think they actually have the oposite effect to their intention? ie far from encouraging us to buy whatever they're promoting, they encourage us to ignore them in various ways, like changing channels or muting the sound, binning flyers unread and of course blocking adverts on the net.

The old comment "It must be worth their while or they wouldn't do it" isn't really backed up by any proper "research" like comparing periods of no adverts with episodes of advertising, advertising sparily or times spent bombarding the media.

One thing the people advertising on TV should do is the watch their stupid adverts with the sound muted!
