ABOUT 3 HOURS AGO CENTRAL Mum whose son had proton therapy supports Kings PROTON_INTERVIEWBrightcove_Central_VideoPlay video Ros Barnes, a mother from Leicestershire, sympathises with the parents of Ashya King, who said they took their son out of hospital to seek proton therapy treatment abroad. She told ITV News Central that she didn't agree with their decision to remove him from hospital, but certainly supports the family in terms of their belief in proton therapy. Her son was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour in 2008 and underwent proton therapy in Florida when British doctors told the family it was not available on the NHS. Ros says it saved her son's life and he wouldn't be here now if it weren't for the pioneering treatment.
