Actually, the approximate date, and results from various events of that time and beyond, led to where we are now. The jewish community has had far worse relations historically with the West, and Christianity, than with it's immediate neighbours It's largely about land rights/territory not religion, and Israel do not come out of events well in this respect. There appears to be little real will to seek a settlement, just a desire to remove certain people from what it sees as it''s territory,
