With respect I think your stereotyping the Midlands, as other posters have listed many parts that come under that criteria!.
This country grew rich on what you say is horrible many at the expense of their lives & long term health, so yes! It may not have been meant that way but it came across as snobby , unchristian ,& I may say rude! lol.
