lol at muffins............. Have to admit I luv muffins............... Bank you are way off the mark with a money making industry...........Yes, the organisation is very prosperous which we are so very grateful for, apart from the odd bit of income from a property sale here and there we are completley funded by VOLUNTARY contributions, yes voluntary, we do not have collection plates handed round each meeting, we do not have to submit a certain percentage of our income and no charge is asked for any of our literature from our members or the public............... The fact we have grown so much and have such wonderful Kingdom halls is all down to Our God and our hardworking brothers and sisters, the fact we have come so far is because we have had Jehovahs blessing............. I will add, we are in the process of rebuilding a wonderful new complex just outside of brooklyn USA where our main, but now outgrown buildings have been for the last 60 odd years. Very exiting times ahead. All self built too by our own. My congregation built our own Kingdom hall in 3 days........we all had a share, all materials, time and energy loving contrubuted willing unpaid. It houses 4 congregations of around 100 -200 each. Quite a building and very warm and cosy.

Many a dodgy organisation has become enormously wealthy on 'voluntary' donations, it doesn't mean they are not in it for the money and power.

You should use some critical thinking about your beliefs and what you are told to believe by your Elders and do it by using more than one particular translation of the Bible.

Learn something about other old religions from across the world, learn something of evolution, above all think for yourself.

Hide the fact that there is no concrete evidence, & now I know it comes from the States which is full of these brain washing religious cults I'm even less convinced, although I now see why they are so persistent in the door to door hard sell, it does seem to smack of desperation & to also add more money to the coffers! IMHO !!.

mmmm, very apt CD xxxx The more there is shown opossition to the message given to all in a way that shows God cares about each and everyone one's well being and future the more I am convinced of it's truth.............So many prophecies are being fullfilled by it here and now I cannot be in any doubt.............................. I was asked why am I so concerned about all of the non believers, well I shall tell you.....it is because you are all fellow humans beings with just as much right to life as me, and there is something wonderful on offer to replace this wicked and very cruel system of thing. It is entirely up to the individual what you do with that information......I can only pass it on.....I have done my bit it I do......I accept that you all make your own minds up.......What I will say though is, if you choose to to take it, then you cannot blame anyone but yourselves to being closed to - you must take full responsibility for whatever you may and however you may suffer for it........I do hope you all are happy that is all I would want.........

.So many prophecies are being fullfilled by it here and now I cannot be in any doubt...

1878, 1914, 1918, 1925, 1975 and by the end of the 20th century, all failed prophecies for the end time.

You need to learn what a real prophecy actually is.

A vague suggestion that something may happen in the future, something which is almost bound to happen anyway, is not a prophecy, if it was we are all prophets because we all do it.

Neither is searching the Bible to find a statement which may act as a prophecy for an event which has already happened or is about to happen, the prophecy has to come before the prophesised and not the other way round.

A sheep is lost without it's flock, separate it from is companions & it will quickly become disorientated , unhappy , panic stricken,& prone to be picked off by predation totally incapable of acting on it's own, the only defence it does have is the flight mode!
When amongst it's flock it blindly follows the leader even at the expense of following the majority over a cliff edge in it's panic to be with them . If you study a shepherd & his/her dog trying to separate one or two of the sheep from the main flock you would see it is one of the most difficult manoeuvres the sheep will do everything in it's power to get back to the main flock!.

And be less likely to leave it in the first place if it knows that the flock will shut them out if they do as in being disfellowshipped.

That's how cults hang on to and control their members.

In Conclusion

You’re on the right track by coming here tonight to find out why it is dangerous to associate with JWs. Maybe this does not apply to you, but I like this clever remark of Will Rogers: "Even if you're on the right track you'll get run over if you just sit there." Many JWs suspect that something isn’t right with their religion, but they just stay with it waiting and waiting for something to happen.

Rather than continue to wait for the end of the world and have their hopes dashed to pieces when it doesn’t come in their lifetime, they should do what JWs are taught not to do—hitch a ride with a world that is continuing to move on to make life better for all of society in the here and now. Life is too short to waste on JWs fantasies and dreams. If we love our neighbor as ourselves, we will help humanity, not hope for destruction of everybody not a JW. And if you want to help JWs when one calls at your door, mention what you have heard here tonight.

Yes, it’s difficult to get out of a cult. If you do, you lose your closest relationships, your cherished beliefs, and your whole way of life goes up in flames. More often than not, you end up with nothing.

However, if you choose to associate with JWs by becoming one of them, despite the dangers that you heard here tonight, understand when you do, you will give up your freedom of speech, freedom of choice, your family and friends, the community you belong to and perhaps even your life.

That choice is yours.

There are those who should realise that this life is all you get.

It is not a rehersal so one shouldn't waste it.

There are certainly many who are living a pretend life involved in one church or another where they no longer have a belief but are afraid to admit it even to their family, scared of the reaction of others.
