On majority verdicts.

 

Some twenty years ago my wife was a juror on a murder trial. Two of the twelve jurors (one being her) had taken notes during the trial and wanted to go through the evidence, while the other ten said words to the effect of "it's obvious he's guilty, nothing to discuss".
